Civic Epistemologies celebrates its Final Conference!

"Digital Heritage and Innovation, Engagement and Identity", Berlin 12-13 November 2015: registration open!

The event, being held on 12-13 November 2015 at the Hamburger Bahnhof – Museum für Gegenwart, is organised by Stiftung Preussischer Kulturbesitz in the frame of the CIVIC EPISTEMOLOGIES project. LIBIS, together with CS Digital (Faculty of Humanities) are partner in the project and will be present in Berlin.

The project is ending in November 2015 with the delivery of a Roadmap that indicates a set of steps recommended to digital cultural heritage and digital humanities researchers, e-Infrastructure providers, cultural managers, artists and citizen associations in order to make progress in developing the relationship between cultural heritage and the society. The Berlin conference will be the occasion to review the content of the Roadmap together with the participating stakeholders. LIBIS and CS Digital where responsible for drafting the Strategic Research Agenda and a report on learning resources, including an IPR guide for interaction with citizens in cultural heritage research projects which will be included in the final version of the Roadmap.

Key-note speakers, EC representatives, and project experts will debate the following main topics:
1) the Information Age is producing a big change that is impacting cultural institutions, artists, their practices, the way that heritage is preserved, accessed and made available on the Internet;
2) the participation of citizens in digitisation activities and co-creation experiences, including the artistic dimension, represents a big potential that is demanding to be unlocked.
