The "Hack
Your Photo Heritage” event is fast approaching. Join the KU Leuven and LIBIS team at the Fablab in Heverlee, Leuven on February 25- 27.
We are targeting people with creative ideas for the reuse of cultural heritage, who would like the opportunity to develop these ideas in a real solution. You do not need to be a developer yourself (of course developers are welcome!), as there will be support teams to help you translate your idea to technology. Maybe you are a student, a cultural heritage professional, a designer, a creative entrepreneur, a photographer or a photo-amateur? Then this hackathon is for you!
Main theme: How can creative industries tap into the power hidden in the treasures of past photographic heritage and link it to the world of the smartphone and the web?
You will have access to huge amounts of cultural heritage resources from Europeana and Europeana Space, Flickr Commons and Wikimedia to build innovative apps that reuse photographic heritage and develop web environments for tourism, culture and education, with monetizing potential and investment appeal. Teams from LIBIS, iMinds, NTUA and Noterik will assist.
Do you have an innovative idea for the reuse of photographic heritage? Don’t miss out on this event: contact us or register here for the hackathon!
